Ilford IR - 3 Reducer

  • Part A
  • Water 750 ml
  • Pot. Permanganate 0.25 g
  • Sulphuric Acid (conc.) 1.5 ml
  • Water to make 1.0 L
  • Part B
  • Water 750 ml
  • Amm. Persulfate 25 g
  • Water to make 1.0 L
Please note this safety rule: Always add acid to water, never water to acid.
Mix one part of Solution A with 3 parts of Solution B. When reduction has gone far enough, pour out the reducer and cover the negative/s with a 1 % solution of sodium bisulfite to clear it/them.
